DORIE SMITH

A heritage designated Synagogue housed in a former Foresters Hall in the Annex neighborhood of Toronto. The shul came to us with a need to make the building more accessible for their congregation.

Accessibility and a deep sense of responsibility from the congregation encouraged us to push the building from its 1890 roots firmly into the 21st century. The building has been rebuilt to last for another generation.

Extensive community engagement with the congregation helped us to offer solutions which filled the vibrant congregation's needs in the long and short term.

Bringing beauty to each aspect of the utilitarian building was an important part of the design brief.
